Suffolk East Federation of Women's Institutes


The Suffolk East Federation of Women's Institutes (SEFWI) welcomes you to its website. We are affiliated to the National Federation of Women's Institutes, the UK's largest voluntary organisation for women. We cover East Suffolk from beyond Lowestoft to Felixstowe and from Aldeburgh to beyond Stowmarket. With around 4000 members within 117 WIs, we offer members opportunities:

  • to enjoy friendship within their local communities,
  • to develop their skills and talents through lifelong learning,
  • to widen their horizons,
  • to improve the quality of life in the community,
  • and together, to influence local, national and international affairs
The Women's Institute is non-sectarian and non-party political. There are more than 230,000 members, spread over 70 Federations, throughout England, Wales, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.

at the Food Festival held at The Museum of Rural Life Stowmarket 23 June

During the day they did 4 Cookery Demonstrations taking as the theme "Love Food Hate Waste". The recipes were chosen as they are suitable for using up left overs. The demos went well and the audiences were enthusiastic.
