Some events Planned for 2010

Chairman's New Year Message
I would like to begin by wishing you all a very happy, successful and trouble-free year ahead. I do hope that you are looking forward to it as much as I am.
If you are already a member of a WI here in Suffolk East, then there is indeed a great deal for you to look forward to. Whatever your particular interest may be, there is sure to be something in our 2010 programme to entice you. Just remember to read your SEFWI News or to check here on the website for all the details and closing dates for applications.
Here are just a few of the things in store for you:
We will be running workshops on stitched textiles and lace-making, writing, gardening and cookery; we shall be going ten-pin bowling and playing darts and we have arranged for guided visits to Blakeney Point and Orford Ness. That is just the tip of the iceberg. There will be much more on offer as the year unfolds and I haven't even mentioned the various campaigns we shall be involved in and the issues of vital importance to us all, such as climate change, violence against women and clearer labelling on foodstuffs, that we will be discussing and taking action on in 2010.
If you are not yet a member, how about making a New Year's resolution to come along and find out more? As you can see, the WI is a very active organisation, allowing women to take part in a wide range of activities and to become involved in issues of concern to them and to the communities they live in. There is a WI near you and you will be made most welcome when you visit.
More details are here on the website or you can phone our headquarters in Ipswich on 01473 251632.
