The Suffolk East Federation is divided into 20 Groups of between 4 and 8 WIs. The WIs in each Group get together once or twice a year when they take it in turns to organise a meeting for the whole Group, thus pooling resources for a more expensive speaker and socialising with friends and colleagues from other WIs.
Each Group is assigned a WI Adviser (most Advisers cover 2 Groups) to help with these meetings.
A WI Adviser is a member who has been trained nationally to assist and advise WIs and members. All subjects from WI rules and the Constitution to encouraging members to take a turn on the committee are covered by the Federation's WI Advisers.
WI Advisers form a Federation Committee (Membership Advisory Sub-committee) and meet 10 times a year to discuss what is happening within the Federation. A large part of the committee work is to arrange training for WI members, committee and officers, to assist them to carry out the jobs they have taken on.
WI Advisers enjoy meeting members and visiting their WIs and they provide a valuable link between the members, the Federation and the National Federation.
Please contact the Federation office if you would like more information on training to become a WI Adviser.
